The first video science experiment from IQ Science is very simple, but surprisingly fun. It’s also sure to attract a reaction from friends and family when you’re next sharing a dinner table.
Flying Flames are created with just two basic items: a candle and a source of ignition (lighter or matches). Replicating the experiment is as simple as lighting a candle, waiting a minute or so for it to start burning brightly, then to blow out the candle and hold a lit flame within the trail of smoke that rises from the extinguished wick.
Amazingly, the candle will spark back to life. But how did the flame travel from your ignition source back down to the candle? This video explains.
